Buxton Music Speech and Drama Festival (Festival) is a performing arts society run by volunteers. It is registered with the Charity Commission number 50784 (We/Us). We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.
This policy (and any other documents referred to on it) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.
Information we collect from you.
We will collect and process the following data about you and/or your child/pupil.
- The information you give us includes information you provide when you register to compete in the Festival and/or have your child/pupil compete in the Festival, apply to volunteer as a steward and when you voluntarily complete surveys and/or give feedback. Feedback relates to our desire to have an efficient administration of the Festival.
- We do not collect sensitive personal data unless there is a legitimate reason for this, such as:
- where a child (or other vulnerable entrant) may need support to participate in a class, or
- where there is a legal requirement, or
- where you might participate in discussions or report a problem.
The information you give us will include your name, address, e-mail address, phone number, and the name and age of the child performing.
We will not send your personal details and address to any other party without your express consent. We do not sell, or otherwise provide, your information to third parties, and we will not hold your personal information in identifiable format for any longer than is necessary.
Uses made of the information.
We use information held about you in the following ways:
- Information we collect about the performer, which is their name, their chosen performance piece and their age at the date of entry. We will use this information to process entry to classes in the Festival and for any other administrative functions of the Festival, with access to your data being restricted to those personnel who administer the Festival.
- Personal data will not be collected and processed without your unconditional consent or where there is a legitimate interest. Completion of the online entry form, or by any other means, will constitute:
- your unconditional consent to collecting and processing your data, and
- acknowledgement and agreement that we have a legitimate interest in collecting and processing your data (that is, the efficient administration of the Festival).
